Vintage IMCO Austria Camp Gas Stove Flint Lighter, Coghlan's, Secret Compartment
This is a vintage flint lighter made by IMCO in Austria, and branded for Coghlan's in Winnipeg, Canada. Exact age is unknown, but I'm guessing it is circa 1960s.
Good working condition - tested and guaranteed. Some corrosion and normal wear from age and use. No attempt was made to clean or restore this item - original state preserved.
This model has a secret compartment built into the handle and is used to store an extra flint. Also, this model has a camping scene with tent stamped on the starter lever on the handle.
There is a sliding spring loaded moving part that is used to adjust the pressure on the flint for a better spark. This part lifts up, and can be reinserted into three different slot positions. The instructions printed on the side are in German, English and French, and say PUSH HERE ONLY WHEN SPARK TOO WEAK.
A package of replacement flints was purchased to test this lighter, and are included in this listing.
Measures approx. 9-1/2" from end to end.
