Description
Item SpecificThe hydraulic steering system should be flushed properly and filled with new power steering fluid before installation. Damaged related parts must be replaced. Press-on Pulley:Press the pulley properly on the new steering shaft until it becomes flush with the top of the shaft. Nut Retaining Style Pulley:Line up to the pulley groove on the shaft and tighten with nut. Transfer all the accessories to the new pump and make sure no leakage into the line connections upon finishing.
The reservoir must be removed and transferred to the steering pump. Mount the new O-rings in between and torque to 30 ft. lb or as per the manufacturer's specification. Do NOT discard the original pump, place them in the box with the old unit for full core value.
Always follow the manufacturer's recommended procedures in bleeding the steering system.Remove the return line of the steering pump reservoir with the fluid and crank the engine for ten seconds (do not allow the engine to start), repeat until the fluid running out. Reconnect and start the engine then turn the steering wheel left and right until all the air is bled out. Check for leaks and proper steering operation before and after the road test.
