A very fine and superb Meiji Period pair of vases in
Cobalt
Blue ground, depicting a number of scenes from human and animal life.
Astonishing painting quality over a heavily gilded dark blue ground.
Both vases signed underneath with the seal of Kawayama artist who also worked for Kinkozan
it is seen by the style and superb quality of the vases sold here with

worthy appearance in a superb state with no damage at all.
