Antique 1897 "Black American Joker" Softcover Book~Henry Williams~Minstrel Shows

Description

This antique "Black American Joker" softcover book comes in acceptable condition, with the cover coming loose at the front and spine, cover soiling, spine damage and fading, intact binding, discoloration of the inside pages (see pictures).
The book has 77
pages of minstrel show dialog, followed by ads for other publications by the same company.
It  was edited by Henry L. Williams, and is copyright dated 1897 by T. S. Denison of Chicago.
The book ads include "Negro Minstrels" by Charles Townsend, "A Bundle of Burnt Cork Comedy" by Harry L. Newton, and one for this book that reads, "...Wherever "black face" entertainment is given this book will be found indispensible...It is the cream of darky humor".
